About me… To tell you about myself, my name is Kristen Culver and I am from Yuba City, California. My interest in nutrition and dietetics began when I was a junior in high school, and got my first job at McDonald’s as a cashier. Working at McDonald’s introduced me to food safety procedures and recipe standardization, and also sparked my curiosity to learn more about the role food and nutrition plays on our health.
Once I graduated high school, I was accepted into California State University, Chico, where I began to take nutrition classes to expand my knowledge of nutrition and health. Each class that I took was very intriguing to me, allowing me to realize that becoming a Registered Dietitian is a career goal that I must pursue.
After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science, I applied to a dietetic internship at California State University, Fresno. Being a dietetic intern was the best experience of my life. The program at Fresno was very diverse with strong emphasis in both clinical nutrition and food service management.
Now, I am extremely proud to be a Registered Dietitian, and look forward to every day that I can use my knowledge and expertise to better the lives of others who need direction and encouragement!
